Protection against benzoylcholine by the injection of pseudo-cholinesterase

Immediately following the injection of pseudo-cholinesterase, rabbits were protected against the effect of benzoylcholine and were unaffected by a dose of it which would normally have paralysed them. 

Further interesting observations along these lines are awaited especially in connexion with poisoning by organo-phosphorus compounds. 

In Chapter iii we drew attention to the fact that some nerve fibres are myelinated. It has been suggested that the pseudo-cholinesterase of the central nervous system may be concerned in myelin metabolism and that inhibition of pseudo-cholinesterase
