In the pharmaceutical literature some pyrazoles fused to the prostaglandin structure are cited. Thus, 9,ll-azo-PGE2 (701), a stable endoperoxide analogue that is eight times as potent as PGG2, is a compound that specifically blocks TXA2 synthetase (79MI40401). [Pg.294]

Structure of prostaglandin E2. All prostaglandins are derived from C20 fatty acids. The PG stands for prostaglandin. The E specifies the position of oxygen substituents, and the subscript refers to the number of double bonds. From the structure it can be seen that the double bonds of PGE2 are transit3 and cAA5. [Pg.452]
