The synthesis of prostaglandin Ei in the naturally occurring leva form was achieved by a modification of the sequence described above in which the racemic amine A was resolved with (-)-oc-bromocamphor-Tt-sulfonic acid. The enantiomer of the natural PGEi ([a]57g+57° (cO.5, THE)) was also synthesized (Ref. 3).
