Properties of lithium titanates

The Li4Ti5042 was prepared according to patented s mthesis protocol. The different stages of the process involve alternate periods of mechanical grinding and thermal treatment under air. The powder obtained has a specific surface area of about 10 m / g. The specific surface area is correlated to particle size. In this case, the material is bi-modal (a component around 400 nm and around 50 pm). The commercial electrode materials, such as LiCo02 have a specific surface area below 1 m /g. [Pg.407]
