Progesterone receptor proteins

This author has observed several cases of nuclear estrogen receptor protein by immunohistochemistry in pulmonary adenocarcinoma using heat epitope antigen retrieval. A few cases of small cell carcinoma showed nuclear estrogen and progesterone receptor protein expression. 

Zembowicz and colleagues have described another primary cutaneous carcinoma with histologic features that are entirely dissimilar from PCNC namely, endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma. That lesion histologically resembled mucinous carcinoma of the skin and was immunoreactive for estrogen and progesterone receptor proteins in addition to endocrine markers.
