We call the data base PRODBIB, for "product bibliography." Our selection of INQUIRE was based on the successful experience of other pharmaceutical firms (i) ... 

Items are structured according to the fields definition table (Figure 1). The only required field in the data base is REPORT, a report code and accession number assigned to each paper. For papers which mention more than one product, a DOCPT (a single alphabetic character) is assigned. Consequently, REPORT uniquely identifies the product paper REPORT and DOCPT uniquely identify a PRODBIB item.
