Process monitoring/control technologies infrared sensors

Before the widespread acceptance and application of sensors, machines and processes were monitored by human operators, by means of visual observation, hearing, smell, or touch. These inputs are processed by the brain for machine control. The advancement of sensing technologies aims to replace human-based, subjective perception by physical sensors that enable objective measurement with high accuracy, repeatability, efficiency, and even the ability to sense phenomenon that cannot be sensed by humans, such as infrared and ultrasmiic waves.
