PROBLEM POOR FLAME QUALITY OF KEROSENE Identify Possible Causes High Viscosity 

If the viscosity of kerosene is too high, it will not readily travel up the wick of burners and kerosene lamps. Fuel consumption will be low and the flame will not be bright. 

If the IBP is high, the kerosene will not be volatile enough to provide good flame height and illuminating quality.
