Principle of incompatibility

Besides perfluoroalkyl monomers, acrylic acid esters with long hydrocarbon residues are commonly copolymerised in this way to realize the principle of incompatibility in the polymer. Further components serve to impart adhesion or cross-linking on the substrate. 

The last statement Zadeh calls the principle of incompatibility. Its message is that the closer one looks at a real-world problem, the fnzzier becomes its solution.
