CJglycine, which are accessible through nitro[ C]methane (Chapter 5, Section 6). 

Reaction conditions I.H2S, EtjN, MeOH 2a. acetone reflux, b. H2SO4 3.H2S, EtsN, DMF 4. acetone reflux, 2 h 5. 5 N HCI reflux 6. EtOH reflux, 20 h 

Reaction conditions 1. K XN, TMSCI, Nal, pyridine CH3CN reflux, 44 h 2. UAIH4, ether r.t., 2 h (76 % over two steps) 3. TMS CN, SnCU, CH3CN, r.t., 3.5 h 4a. HsSe, DMAP, EtOH 25°C, 40min, b. BrCH2C(0)C00Et, r.t.
