1 Preparation of Metal-Sulfur Clusters from Dinuclear Precursors 

Metal-Sulfur Clusters as the Model for the Active Sites of Metalloenzymes 

Dinuclear Pt complexes of the type [ Pt(PR3) 2(p-S)2] are also known to serve as the good precursors to the trinuclear clusters. A series of triangular cluster cores M Pt2(p3-S)2 has been constructed therefrom (M = transition metals, main-group metals).50 

As the dinuclear metal-sulfur complexes that can exhibit excellent ability to serve as the precursors to the tailored metal-sulfur clusters, those with the M2S4 cores are known to be used for synthesizing cubane-type and relating sulfido clusters. These include the reactions that start from the complexes having Mo(p-SH)2(p-S)2Mo, M(p-S2)(p-S)2M (M = Mo ), Ru(p-S2)2Ru,
