Preparation and Analysis of an Iron Complex

PURPOSE OP EXPERIMENT Prepare potassium tris(oxalato)ferrate(III) trihydrate, K3[Fe(C204)3] 3H2O, and analyze it for oxalate ion and iron. [Pg.193]

Set up a ring stand and buret clamp, clean a buret carefully with soap solution, and rinse it thoroughly with distilled water. Practice reading the buret and manipulating the stopcock or pinch clamp (Laboratory Methods B) before continuing this analysis. Finally, drain the buret. [Pg.195]

Titrate the resulting solution with the approximately 0.02 M potassium permanganate, KMn04, solution at room temperature. Record the initial and final volumes of Mn04 in TABLE 15.1C. [Pg.195]

TABLE 15.1. Data for preparation and analysis of K3[Fe(C2O4)3] 3H2O. [Pg.197]
