developed by Paul Boersma and David Weenink at the Institute of Phonetic Sciences of the University of Amsterdam, combines a number of tools into a single environment primarily aimed at supporting research in the field of phonetics, but it turns out to be an extremely useful tool for musicians as well. It is also possible to activate Praat s commands using scripts. A script is a text containing sequences of Praat commands, the respective parameters and objects, as illustrated in Chapters 4 and 6 when we studied the physical modelling synthesiser. [Pg.210]
