PR separation

This Wurtz-type coupling affords a mixture of air stable crystallizable products with two, three, four, and five fused rings (140, 141 -a, 141-r, 142-a,a, 142-//,.s and 143 respectively substituents / -Pr), separable by recycling HPLC. [Pg.640]

Pb(CD3)4 are 726xl0 and 569 x 10 cm respectively [47]. For centrifugal distortion constants, see [49]. The rotational branch structure to the skeletal fundamentals is studied and OR, RS branch separations are observed and compared with calculated values [35]. The PR separations are 15.7 and 13.9 cm respectively [47]. The inertia defect, bringing out the influence of vibration-rotation interaction on molecule structure was calculated and compared with that of other tetrahedral molecules [48]. [Pg.114]

Fra.ctiona.1 Precipituition. A preliminary enrichment of certain lanthanides can be carried out by selective precipitation of the hydroxides or double salts. The lighter lanthanides (La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm) do not easily form soluble double sulfates, whereas those of the heavier lanthanides (Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) and yttrium are soluble. Generally, the use of this method has been confined to cmde separation of the rare-earth mixture into three groups light, medium, and heavy. [Pg.544]

RE(N0 )2 NH NO 4H20 for light lanthanide separation (La, Nd, Pr) 2RE(N02)3 3Mg(N03)2 24H20 for middle lanthanide separation (Sm, Eu, Gd). Bromates and ethylsulfates have been found useful. Fractional crystallization is particularly slow and tedious for the medium and heavy rare earths. [Pg.544]

The most important minerals of the lanthanide elements are monazite (phosphates of La, Ce, Pr, Nd and Sm, as well as thorium oxide) plus cerite and gadolinite (silicates of these elements). Separation is difficult because of the chemical similarity of the lanthanides. Fractional crystallization, complex formation, and selective adsorption and elution using an ion exchange resin (chromatography) are the most successful methods. [Pg.413]

Determination of thorium as sebacate and subsequent ignition to the oxide, ThOa Discussion. This procedure permits of the separation by a single precipitation of thorium from relatively large amounts of the lanthanides (Ce, La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) and also from cerium(IV). [Pg.469]

For any given reaction series the equation is applied to meta- and para-substituents separately, and so values of p, and pR characteristic both of reaction and of substituent position are obtained. The various crR-type scales are linearly related to each other only approximately. In any given application the scale which gives the best correlations must be found65. ... [Pg.497]

For a bubble to be formed in a liquid, such as steam in water, for example, it is necessary for a surface of separation to be produced. Kelvin has shown that, as a result of the surface tension between the liquid and vapour, the vapour pressure on the inside of a concave surface will be less than that at a plane surface. As a result, the vapour pressure Pr inside the bubble is less than the saturation vapour pressure P, at a plane surface. The relation between Pr and P, is ... [Pg.483]
