Potentialities of Biofilm Reactors

Process engineering possibilities of biofilms have been compared with those of floe processing in Table 3.1. As a consequence of these properties, process development using cell support systems seems to be promising (Atkinson and Kossen, 1978 Atkinson et al., 1980).
