As described for lEC, elution is done by a stepwise or a continuous change of buffer composition. The mildest elution buffer is an aqueous buffer with low ionic strength, e.g., 20 mm Tris-HCl. If it is not successful, desorb with a chaotropic solvent, e.g., 2 M potassium rhodanide (thiocyanate), 2.5 M guanidinium hydrochloride, up to 7 M urea, or with increasing concentrations of methanol or acetonitrile. Especially the use of rhodanide or urea may be accompanied by a chemical modification of amino acid side chains, which disturbs amino acid analysis. [Pg.108]

This library was exposed to a solution of Ni(II) acetate or Fe(III) chloride in order to find the most efficient ligands for these ions among the synthesized compounds. The detection of the most stable complexes could easily be accomplished using classic color reactions (dimethylglyoxime for nickel and potassium rhodanide for iron). The colored resin beads were then selected under the microscope. Actually, certain structures proved to have a very high affinity for each of these ions. In the case of sufficiently dilute Ni(II)-solutions the metal... [Pg.316]

Thiosemicarbazides that are not substituted at the 4-position have been obtained by the action of ammonium rhodanide, or potassium rhodanide in the presence of hydrochloric acid, on hydrazines. A thio-semicarbazide of the type (210) was the only product obtained by the treatment of a 4-substituted thiosemicarbazide with diphenylphosphinyl chloride. ... [Pg.244]
