Polynuclear capsules

Polynuclear capsules have many cores enclosed within the shell. This is also called polycore- or multicore-type capsule.

Polynuclear capsules have many cores enclosed within the shell. 

Mononuclear (core-shell) microcapsules contain the shell around the core, while polynuclear capsules have many cores enclosed within the shell. In matrix encapsulation, the core material is distributed homogeneously into the shell material. In addition to these three basic morphologies, microcapsules can also be mononuclear with multiple shells, or they may form clusters of microcapsules. 

Sulfonatocalix[4]arene shows no tendency to interact with neutral 18-crown-6 however, when its tetrasodium salt is used, two />-sulfonatocalix[4]arene units assemble in a head-to-head manner around a [sodium-18-crown-6] + complex to form a dimeric superanionic capsule, shown in Figure 1, that is capable of selectively crystallizing polynuclear aquated metal cations from mixtures within minutes <2006CEJ2772>. Further developments of these findings await for practical applications in analytical and separation sciences. 

Polynuclear microcapsules contain numerous core capsulates inside the covering. 

DjA-symmetric coordination capsules 743-746 undergo slow self-rearrangement by Scheme 5.99 in their solutions leading to the corresponding polynuclear metallomacrocyclic complexes [98].
