Polyethylene solid

The low value of X indicates that the bed of solids is probably suspended above the coalesced jets. Therefore, the solids rarely come into contact with the grid. This type of design reduces the chances of grid pluggage due to sticky polyethylene solids. [Pg.233]

Fig.l Molecular-weight-distribution (MWD) and viscosity-law plots for NIST PE1475 high-density polyethylene (dashed lines) and NIST PE1476 low-density polyethylene (solid lines). The curves are (1) MWD, (2) observed viscosity, (3) fitted viscosity for linear polyethylene, (4) extrapolated fitted viscosity for polyethylene with short-chain branches only, and (5) fitted viscosity for branched polyethylene. [Pg.856]

Fig. 23. The relative surface tension difference -Ay/y(T) between components of six poly-olefinic blends grouped in three microstructurally identical pairs Xj/x2 (x1>x2) 66/52 (Q, ), 86/75 (A, ) and 75/66 (V, Y). Open and solid symbols correspond to blends with deu-terated more (x,) and less (x2) branched components, respectively. Large and small symbols correspond to previously determined whole segregation isotherms and singular surface excess data, respectively [16,120,145]. y(T) is given by Eq. (45) for polyethylene. Solid lines denote average values for each blend at Tref=100 °C (thick bar)... Fig. 23. The reported bathochromic shift of 20 nm (solution solid state) can be explained by a model that sugggests 2° complete planarization of the conjugated PPE backbones in the polyethylene matrix by the draw-induced order. TEM investigations on materials with high PPE content but polyethylene solid-state structure would be extremely interesting. [Pg.224]

Empty pallets can be a considerable fire hazard, a fact that is often ignored. The stacking height of wood or nonexpanded polyethylene solid deck pallets should be limited to 6 feet, and they should be kept in a small area in detached piles. Other types of plastic pallets should be piled no more than 4 feet high, with no more than two stacks together. They should be kept 8 feet from other... [Pg.197]
