Polyesterification ester exchange

Ester exchange reactions provide a related approach to polyesterification, but the pmctical application for de novo synthesis is limited. 

The usual techniques of polyesterification, such as the solution31 or interfacial32 reaction between an aromatic acid chloride and bisphenol, are not applicable to the preparation of poly (phenyl esters) from hydroxybenzoic acids (prepared by an acid or phenyl ester exchange reaction of the acetate or phenyl ester of the acid33 ). 

Polyesterification by acidolysis ester exchange is also a useful synthetic method, for example, reaction of the diacetate ester of a dihydric phenol with a dicarboxylic acid in the presence of a catalyst to eliminate acetic acid. 

In polyesterification media, alkoxytitaniums do not react with water but can undergo exchange reactions with alcohols, acids and, in some cases, with esters, e.g. ...
