Polyelectrolyte inhibitor performance

Halloysite is an economically viable naturally occurring material that can be mined as a raw mineral (Lvov et al., 2002). As for most natural materials, the size of halloysite particles varies within 1-15 pm of length and lO-lOOmn of iimer diameter depending on the deposits. Embedding of the corrosion inhibitor (for example, benzotriazole) inside the inner volume of the halloysite G nanotubes was performed according to the adapted procedure described by Price et al. (2001). To attain controlled release properties in the halloysite nanotubes, the surfaces of the nanotubes could be modified by LbL deposition of polyelectrolyte bilayers (Lvov et al, 2008). [Pg.274]
