Polyacrylate phase diagrams

Phase diagrams of a polyacrylate-phosphonate system with temperature and calcium ion concentration can be established with turbidimetric measurements [1830]. Conductometric titrations also are suitable to characterize the phase behavior of scale inhibitors [514] (Table 7-2).

Direct comparisons between hydrocarbon and siloxane main chains are few for lyotropic side chain polymer liquid crystals. Pietschmann et al. have recently synthesised polymers of 1,3-diols which differ in the nature of the polymer backbone. DSC and optical polarizing microscopy were used to construct the phase diagrams.
