Poly-generation strategies

Poly-generation strategies (for combined heat, power and chemical production applications) are also considered, with particular reference to recent technological innovations in hot gas cleaning and conditioning these have been developed to achieve the required improvements in syngas quality and have been validated under industrially relevant conditions. [Pg.331]

By using a cocatalyst of Pd-Cu, aryl-alkenyl halides couple efficiently widi alkynes to generate die disubstituted alkynes (Scheme 9.6).8 This coupling reaction has been applied to die synthesis of polyphenyleneethynylenes by Yamamoto et al. in 1984 (Scheme 9.7).9a Due to the ready availability of diacetylenes and the mild coupling condition, this strategy has been widely used for die preparation of many poly(aryleneethynylene)s.9... [Pg.468]

In our group, several dendrimers based on ( R)-3-hydroxybutanoic acid (HB) have been prepared [56-58]. The dendrimers were synthesized by the convergent strategy. Trimesic acid has been used as core unit and the benzyl esters of the dimer and the tetramer of HB as elongation units. In such a way dendrimers of 1st and 2nd generation (27-30) have been constructed (Fig. 13). Since poly(.R)-3-hydroxybutanoic acid (PHB) is known to be biodegradable [59, 60] the stability of the dendrimers 27-30 was tested in the presence of PHB-de-... [Pg.149]

Poly(benzyl ether) dendrimers have several unique optical and photochemical properties. In particular, it is quite interesting that some photochemical events are considerably affected by the molecular size and morphology of the dendrimer molecules. These examples, together with those by other researchers [2], will provide a new strategy toward next-generation, nanoscopic photofunctional materials. [Pg.438]

Fig. 3.2. Schematic of recombinant AAV dual-vector strategies for gene therapy for hemophilia A. (A) depicts the individual expression of the 5 and 3 ends of the factor VIII protein followed by heterodimerization to generate a function protein. (B) shows concatamerized 5 and 3 vectors in the correct head-to-tail orientation. Splicing of vectors to remove the intron and inverted terminal repeats leads to expression of the entire factor VIII protein from a single mature mRNA transcript. ITR, AAV inverted terminal repeat SD, splice donor SA, splice acceptor An, poly A. Fig. 3.2. Schematic of recombinant AAV dual-vector strategies for gene therapy for hemophilia A.
