Poly 2,6-dibromo-l,4-phenylene oxide

The dibromo equivalent of PPO is commercially manufactured by Velsicol Chemical Corporation under the trade name Firemaster. As the trade name [Pg.592]

Several brominated low M polymers have been conunercially available as flame retardant additives for various polymers (tetrabromobisphenol A polycarbonate based oligomers Great Lakes and poly(2,6-dibromo-l,4-phenylene oxide) Velsicol Chemical Firemaster TSA). Firemaster TSA has been reconunended for addition to polyamides, thermoplastic polyesters and other engineering polymers for improved flame resistance [158]. Polybromi-nated polystyrene copolymers (Firemaster BP-411 and CP-44MF Great Lakes) are recommended for addition to thermoplastic polyesters and polyamide for flame resistance. [Pg.403]
