Pigments, inorganic toxicology

It should be noted that the use of certain inorganic pigments, especially those derived from cadmium derivatives and lead chromates, pose considerable toxicological risks and their use is now subject to legislation in most countries. [Pg.125]

Dibasic lead phthalate is technically effective, but undesirable from a toxicological standpoint. Inorganic stabilizers, such as coated hydrotalcite or zeolite, can be dispersed with fillers and pigments. An example is Halstab 1214, DBTO-coated zeolite. With heat-reactive blends containing formaldehyde-based crosslinking agents (formaldehyde-urea or -melamine low polymers), dicyandiamide has been used extensively at about 1 phr as a heat stabilizer. [Pg.61]
