Temperature physiological

It should be noted that in almost all cases only one fold exists for any given sequence. The uniqueness of the native state arises from the fact that the interactions that stabilize the native strucmre significantly destabilize alternate folds of the same amino acid sequence. That is, evolution has selected sequences with a deep energy minimum for the native state, thus eliminating misfolded or partly unfolded structures at physiological temperatures.

The thermal parameters for comfort should be relatively uniform both spatially and temporally. Variations in heat flow from the body make the physiological temperature regulation more difficult. Nonuniform thermal conditions can lead to nonuniform skin temperatures. The active elements of the regulatory system may need to make more adjustments and work harder in order to keep thermal skin and body temperatures stable. To avoid discomfort from environmental nonuniformities, the temperature difference between feet and head should be less than about 3 °C (Fig. 5.9) and the mean surface temperature or radiant difference from one side of the body to the other should not he greater then about 10 °C. 

Of great importance for the Bergman cyclization is the distance between the triple bonds. The reaction cannot occur at moderate temperatures if the distance is too large. Optimal reactivity at physiological temperatures is obtained by fitting the enediyne element into a ten-membered ring." ... 

Biocatalysts usually require mild reaction conditions for an optimal activity (physiologic temperature and pH) and, in general, they show high activity, chemo- and enantioselectivity. Furthermore, when using enzymes, many functional group protections and/or activations can be avoided, allowing shorter synthetic transformations. The use of enzymes is therefore very attractive from an environmental and economic point of view. 

Importantly, physiological temperature regulation is not affected in TRPV 1 (-/-) mice [125, 126],... 

From the point of view of biological relevance ideally EPR spectra should be taken from aqueous solution samples at physiological temperatures. Not-so-ideal reality brings along two major practical problems paramagnetic relaxation and dielectric absorption. 

The H- and N-isoforms of Ras support the first (isoprenoid) hydrophobic modification by additional thioester formation with palmitoylic acids [18]. At physiological temperature (37°C) the dissociation of doubly modified lipo-peptides with an isoprenyl thioether and a palmitoyl thioester is very slow and characterized by half-times in the order of 50 h. Here, the relative effect of the carboxymethylation is significantly reduced. Palmitoyl groups with their C16 alkane chain length contribute more efficiently to membrane anchoring than the farnesyl modification. 

Mammalian cell lines are the ideal model for studying an effect on the current underlying fKii they allow to use physiological temperatures (37 °C) for the human species HER 293, CHO or L cells expressing hERG channels may be used as a primary test to study the pharmacological activity of a compound... 

The measurement of temperature is necessary for the calibration of most probes like blood oxygen, pH, ions, voltage, and carbon dioxide sensors. The use of optical methods to invasively measure physiological temperature has the advantage of electrical isolation, when compared to traditional approaches like the use of thermocouplers.
