Figure 10 shows the measured resonant x-ray fluorescence spectra of A-BN [25, 26]. The excitation energy was 193 eV using an undulator beam line at the Photon Factory, National Laboratory for High Energy Physics, Tsukuba, Japan. The peaks at 170 and 182 eV are ordinary Ka x-ray emission, and peak at 193 eV is the resonance x-ray emission. The difference of the two measurements... 

X-ray absorption experiments were carried out in a transmission mode at BL-9A and BL-lOB of Photon Factory, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Tsukuba, Japan...

Experimental EXAFS measurements presented in this paper were performed in transmission geometry at the zirconium K-edge and thorium Llll-edge on DIFFABS beamUne of the SOLEIL synchrotron in Gif-Sur-Yvette (France) and on BL27B beamline of the Photon Factory (PF), KEK in Tsukuba (Japan), respectively.

The spectra (a) and (b) are of BaCeo.gYo.iOs and BaCeo.825Yo.iRuo.o7503 a respectively, untreated after sintering in moist air and thus reflecting the nature in an oxidative atmosphere the spectra (c) and (d) are of those annealed in moist 1%H.2 diluted by Ar at 800°C for 10 h exhibiting the electronic structure in the reducing atmosphere. V.B. and C.B., the positions of the top of the valence band and the bottom of the conduction band, respectively [35]. The measurements were conducted at the revolver undulator beamline BL-19B at the Photon Factory of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Tsukuba, in Japan. X-ray absorption spectra for the samples were measured at the Photon Factory in the Institute of Materials Structure Science for High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Tsukuba, Japan, with a ring current of 2.5 GeV and a stored current of 250-450 mA. Pt Lm-edge EXAFS was measured at the beam hne BL-7C and 9C... 

Physicochemical properties of the samples were examined by means of XRD, ESR, and XANES. A quantitative analysis of Cr203 phase was performed on Rigaku-Denki D-9C X-ray diffractometer using Cap2 as an internal standard. Amounts of Cr loaded were measured on Phillips PW-1404 X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. ESR spectrum was obtained by using Varian E-3 Spectrometer at room temperature or liquid nitrogen temperature. X-ray absorption experiments in the transmission mode were carried out on EXAFS facilities installed at BL10B at the Photon Factory in Tsukuba, Japan.
