Forbidden Band Width and Magnetic Susceptibility of Boron Phosphide.. 155... [Pg.1]

FORBIDDEN BAND WIDTH AND MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY OF BORON PHOSPHIDE ... [Pg.155]

The forbidden band Width AE of borcn phosphide was deduced from the diffuse reflection spectra. At room temperature the value of AE of BP was 2.4 eV. The tempraature, dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of bcs on phosphide was also determined. [Pg.155]

Table 3 lists the values of the specific and the molar magnetic susceptibilities at temperatures from 184 to 470°K. The results obtained indicated that the absolute susceptibility of our samples of boron phosphide increased weakly and practically linearly with risii temperature (in the range considered). [Pg.156]

We determined also Ihe temperature dependence of the m netic susceptibiliiy of boron phosphide. The diamagnetic susceptibility was measured by the Gouy method in quartz ampoules in a magnetic field of 6500 Oe. Preliminary measurements demonstrated that this m -netic field was sufficient to suppress completely the influence of possible ferromz etic impurities. The measurement method was similar to that described in [9]. [Pg.156]
