Phosphate, chloride, carbonate and sulphate

Tanaka and Ishizuki [8] have investigated the possibility of determining orthophosphate in waste waters by ion exclusion chromatography on a cation exchange resin in the H form by elution with acetone water. They discuss optimal conditions for the separation of phosphate from chloride. 

In Fig. 10.1 an vmknown peak was observed between phosphate and carbonate. This peak was due to water in the sample solution introduced into the chromatograph. However, the peak did not interfere with the quantitation of phosphate.
