Phenylpropanoid curcumin

Curcumin Curcumin (= Diferuloylmethane Turmeric yellow) (phenylpropanoid) Curcuma longa, C. aromatica, C. xanthorrhiza, C. zedoaria. Zingiber officinale (Zingiberaceae) Aminopeptidase N (75-89% inhibition at 3 pM) [64, 67)... [Pg.577]

Curcumin (= Diferuloylmethane Turmeric yellow) (phenylpropanoid) Daidzein ( = 4, 7-Dihydroxyisoflavone) (isoflavone)... [Pg.561]

Biosynthesis of curcuminoids is similar to the biosynthesis of phenylpropanoids, such as flavonoids. Intermediates, such as 4-coumaroyl-CoA, condense with malonyl-CoA (via diketide as an intermediate) to form bisdemethoxycurcumin. Curcumin arises by subsequent oxidation and methylation of bisdemethoxycurcumin. [Pg.713]
