Phenoxyphenyl group

This defect was overcome by exchanging the unstable terpenoid structure with a 4-phenoxyphenyl group. Fenoxycarb (9), a carbamate with a 4-phenoxyphenyl group, was the first compound developed for agricultural use [12]. TTie ether compound pyriproxyfen (10) was found later by Sumitomo Chemical [13]. 

When phenyl tellurium trichloride or 4-phenoxyphenyl tellurium trichloride were reacted with sodium 2-benzoyl-5-methoxyphenoxide in a refluxing mixture of benzene/methanol, compounds were obtained that contained chloride and phenoxide groups. ... 

The dielectric constants of the copolymers, as listed in Table 10.7, were measured on the thin films. At IMHz, the dielectric constant of conventional PEEK without pendant groups was 3.3. The dielectric constants of the copolymers decreased when the bulky 4-(4 -tri-fluoromethyl) phenoxyphenyl increased.
