1.10- Phenanthroline, N-oxide

Bromo-1,10-phenanthroline was synthesized by the reaction of 1,10-phenanthroline-A-oxide with a mixture of tetra-N-butylammonium bromide and 4-methylbenzenesulfonic anhydride in highly diluted media (eq 3). The method is regioselective and applicable to a wide range of fused heterocyclic iV-oxides. [Pg.528]

Copper(ii) complexes of 8-amino-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin, 1,10-phenanthroline-2-carboxamide, 2-pyridone, 2,3-di-(2-pyridine N-oxide)-quinoxaline," pyridine carboxylates, l-(2 -pyridyl)-2-azonaphthol, and l-(2 -benzothiazolyl)-2-azonaphthol have also been reported. [Pg.327]

The complexes traTO-[ReO(OH)(N N)2] (N N = bipy or 4,4 -dimethyl-bipy) and trans-[Re02(N N)2]" (N N = 1,10-phenanthroline) are synthesized by reacting Rc207 with PPhs in the presence of the relevant ligands. Decomposition of the complexes occurs in aqueous media by slow oxidation of the coordinated bipyridine ligands to form the corresponding A-oxides." ... [Pg.298]

Since complexes of 2,2 -bipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline with chromium in oxidation states I and 0 can be obtained by reduction (Scheme 64) of the chromium(n) complexes, these oxidation states will be considered together. Oxidation, as shown in Schemes 65 and 68 of Section 35.4.2.5, gives chromium(III) complexes, which are often best prepared in this way. Earlier work has been extensively reviewed, and few complexes of 2,2 6, 2"-terpyridyl are known.32 A chromium(I) phthalocyanine derivative is mentioned in Section 35.4.9.3. [Pg.709]
