Phanerochaete chrysosporium, cellobiose

Initial and most detailed studies were made with CDH from Phanerochaete chrysosporium. The enzyme was immobilized by simple adsorption onto graphite electrodes and in the presence of cellobiose or lactose but without external mediator, a response current to cellobiose was registered providing indirect proof of DET [109,225].

Cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) from Phanerochaete chrysosporium (0.84 g l in 50 mM ammonium acetate buffer, pH 5) (23,26) was kindly provided by Dr. G. Henriksson and Dr. G. Pettersson (Department of Biochemistry, Uppsala University, Sweden) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was purchased from Boehringer-Mannheim, Mannheim, Germany (cat. no. 814407, RZ 3.2-3.3, approx. 1000 U /mg (ABTS)).
