Peroxisomal proliferation theory

A schematic representation of the peroxisomal proliferation theory of chemical carcinogenesis in rodents is presented in Figure 6. In this model, the chronic induction of the activity of a normally occurring peroxisomal enzyme system is believed to greatly accelerate the process of cellular oxidative damage.
