Periodic system incorrectness

Finally, it should be borne in mind that much of this work was carried out using equivalent weights or incorrect atomic weights. It became possible to develop successful periodic systems, which would accommodate all the elements into coherent systems, only when a set of consistent atomic weight could be obtained. 

Modern writers on the periodic system have tended to downplay Prout s hypothesis, perhaps due to Whiggish tendencies and the fact that it has turned out to be incorrect. One exception is F.P. Venable s classic history of the early stages of the periodic system, in which he makes the following highly laudatory remark about Proufs idea Probably no hypothesis in chemistry has been so fruitful of excellent research as this much discussed hypothesis of Prout The Development of the Periodic Law, Chemical Publishing Co., Easton, PA,1896,p. 3). 

The malfunction or failure of system components, incorrect documentation, or improper operation that makes the proper use of the system impossible for an undetermined period, characterizes some of the incidents that can affect the correct operation of a computer system. These system incidents are also nonconformances.
