Pentafluorobenzyl bromide PFB

ESCA investigations were carried out on a M - Probe Surface Spectrometer SSX 100, Surface Science. HE ionically immobilised on cationised cellulose membranes was analysed quantitatively by means ofthe sulphur signal in the ESCA spectrum. Surface HE content was calculated from the peak integration of the sulphur peak. For increased ESCA sensitivity HE was labelled with pentafluorobenzyl bromide (PFB) or heptafluorobutylamine (HFB). Labelled HE was immobilised covalently to silicone and quantified by ESCA by means ofthe fluorine signal. [Pg.200]

A new method was developed for calculating the quantitative surface distribution of at least four different components as the polymer, plasticiser, spacer, and heparin from ESCA data. The amounts of the components were calculated from the proportions of the elements in the ESCA survey spectmm, using a model of the surface concerning the repeating units of the carrier polymer and the coatings. For improving the sensitivity of the method, ESCA sensitivity of heparin was increased by labelling with markers [pentafluorobenzyl bromide (PFB), heptafluorobutyl amide (HFB)]. [Pg.205]
