Pentachloro-2,3,3-trifluoropropane

Addition of perhaloalkanes to halogcnalcd alkenes is performed under classical conditions (see Table 3). These alkenes can have chlorine or fluorine substituents at vinylic or allylic positions. The addition is not always completely regioselective and the yields are generally lower than those obtained with simple alkenes. However, the adducts formed are interesting intermediates for the synthesis of more elaborate organo-fluorinc compounds. A typical example is the formation of 1.1,1.3,3-pentachloro-2,2,3-trifluoropropane. ... [Pg.488]
