Penares sollasi

Isol. from the Indo-Pacific marine sponge Penares sollasi. Protein kinase C inhibitor, [ot] —16.9 (c, 0.04 in MeOH). [Pg.311]

Ancorinosides B-D are ancorinoside A homologs with variation in the sugars and fatty chain. These three derivatives were isolated from Penares sollasi harvested in Japan (Fujita et al, 2001a). Ancorinosides B-D are inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). These zinc enzymes hydrolyze certain proteins and promote metastasis. For a review of zinc proteins, see Coleman (1992). [Pg.689]

Fujita, M., Nakao, Y., Matsimaga, S., Seiki, M., Itoh, Y., Van Soest, R.W. M., and Fusetani, N. (2001a) Ancorinosides B-D, inhibitors of membrane type 1 matrix metalloproteinase (MTl-MMP), from the marine sponge Penares sollasi Thiele. Tetrahedron, 57, 1229-1234,... [Pg.1227]
