Experimental studies of the electrocapillary curve are very numerous. Besides Lippmann, Paschen,1 Rothmund,2 S. W. J. Smith,8 Gouy,4 Frum-kin,5 Koenig,6 Butler, Ockrent, and others,7 Hansen and Williams,8 and many others have published results. By far the most comprehensive studies are still those of Gouy.
