Parents limiting liability

To reduce their exposure to assuming excessive responsibility for misfortune that befalls their only child, parents need to limit liability. They can do this by accepting that there are three variables affecting their child s life that they do not control. 

It may be necessary to hire additional security personnel from a private company, but parent volunteers can fill this role if the numbers are sufficient. Students, employees, and volunteers should receive a minimum amount of training for filling such roles. This training is to enhance the plan, limit injury to them, and limit liability to the school. 

Break this equation and the tyranny of those twin emotions are broken. Parents can reduce their susceptibility to denial by limiting their liability for how the child acts. They can accept realistic limits about how much of their child s life they are actually able to control.
