Parent-Child Assistance Program

These programs assist children with many types of developmental difficulties to get treatment as quickly as possible. If the family has no medical insurance, staff will help them look for insurance. If a parent is unable to get an immediate appointment for a child who needs medical attention, they will help in this effort as well. They may have family advocates who help with transportation, for example, or even translating if that is needed. They will give the physician background information on the child, and help the family make connections with the proper resources. [Pg.71]
