Paper liquid sorption measurement

Bristowi has described a device for measuring the sorption of various liquids into paper. As shown in Figure 12 a paper strip is mounted on a rotating wheel, and is drawn past a minia-... [Pg.405]

Gillespie demonstrated the approximate validity of [5] for spreading of drops of non-polar liquids on filter paper. More recently Kissa (9) extended its application to the sorption of various alkanes on natural and synthetic fabrics. Rather than using drop radii Kissa measured drop areas which are more accurate particularly for spreading on anisotropic structures such as textiles or paper. On this basis [5] can be written in the general form... [Pg.437]

As we have interpreted above the coal structure were investigated by up-to-date physical measurements both by the coalchemist and by the reservoir engineers. However, in the literature can rarely be found papers dealing with gas sorption properties of coals [9-12], but up to the present have not been measured liquid mixture (excess) sorption isotherms combined with gas sorption data and other physical measurements. In the following parts these investigations are discussed separately but thereafter a synthesis of those are made. [Pg.489]
