Papaver polychaetum

D-( — )-Armepavine, C19H23NO3 (XXX) (mp 148°-149° [a] —116° in GHCI3), has been isolated from several Papaveraceae Papaver fugax Poir (72), P. caucasicum Marsch.-Bieb. (73), P. triniaefolium Boiss., P. persicmn Lindl. (74, 75), and P. polychaetum Schott et Kotsky (main alkaloid) (74). Racemic armepavine (mp 167°-169°) has been found in different strains of Nelumbo nucifera (76, 77) and in N. hitea (62). [Pg.413]
