P - menthane hydroperoxide

DIITIATORS - FREE-RADICAL INITIATORS] (Voll4) p-Menthane hydroperoxide [26762-92-5]... [Pg.603]

The effect changes in concentration and composition of a number of the constituents in the polymerization recipe have on latex particle size was determined from the polymerization rate data. In this recipe, the redox initiator system is added as two separate components. First, the p-menthane hydroperoxide is Injected into the bottle containing monomer, water, soap, salt and regulator. Then, the ferrous hepto sulfate, versene and sodium sulfoxylate dissolved together in aqueous solution is injected. The effect doubling each of these initiator solutions has on particle size is shown in Table III. [Pg.129]

Isopropylbenzene peroxide is a liquid comparatively stable to heat, decomposition beginning to ser in at 165-175°C. The following peroxides also are described p-menthane-hydroperoxide, diphenyl-methane-hydroperoxide, autoxidation of indene, and cleavage of tetralin-peroxide. ... [Pg.513]

The most commonly used initiator for anaerobic adhesives is cumene hydroperoxide. Many other hydroperoxides have been disclosed, such as t-butylhydroperoxide (XL), p-menthane hydroperoxide (XLI), diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide (XLII), pinene hydroperoxide (XLIII), and methyl ethyl ketone hydroperoxide (XLIV) [40]. Some diperoxides, such as di-/-butylperoxide (XLV) and dicumylperoxide (XLVI), have been claimed, but these may function only because of hydroperoxide contamination [41]. [Pg.754]

During the main period of development a large number of redox systems were investigated. As reductant, in approximate order of development, were diazoether, sugar-iron pyrophosphate, polyamine and sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate. Amongst the peroxides cumene and p-menthane hydroperoxides have found favour. The SFS system based on sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate has been particularly useful because of its low cost, ease of preparation and reproducibility. A simplified mechanism for the initiation stage may be given as ... [Pg.141]

The most commonly used initiator for anaerobic adhesives is cumene hydroperoxide (CHP). Many other hydroperoxides have been disclosed such as /erf-butyl hydroperoxide, p-menthane hydroperoxide, diisopropylbenzene hydroperoxide, pinene hydroperoxide and methyl ethyl ketone hydroperoxide [160]. [Pg.33]

Hydrogenation of a mixture of the p-menthadienes produces a mixture of cis-p-menthane [6069-98-3] and trawi-p-menthane [1678-82-6]. Oxidation to a mixture of p-menthane hydroperoxides gives a useful polymerization initiator used in the rubber... [Pg.271]
