Oxynitrilase Hydroxy Nitrile Lyase, HNL Cyanohydrins from Aldehydes

Oxynitrilase (Hydroxy Nitrile Lyase, HNL) Cyanohydrins from Aldehydes [Pg.167]

The achievement of high e.e. values during formation of the cyanohydrins is made difficult by the competitive chemical addition of HCN to the aldehydes as a side reaction, which renders racemic cyanohydrins. As the chemical addition is very fast above the pK value of 4.5 for cyanide, different reaction models have been proposed which are supposed to help suppress the unspecific reaction  [Pg.167]
