Moro-oka el al. (42,230) have reported kinetic data for the oxidation reactions of acetylene, ethylene, propene, propane, and isobutene on up to twelve different oxides and also palladium and platinum metals. Calculated parameters for the two compensation effects mentioned by these authors [i.e., those oxidation reactions of propene for which the oxygen pressure dependency exponent was <0.6 (42) and the oxidation of acetylene (230)] and for all the data given in both references are given in Table V, D, E, and F, respectively. Although similar calculations were completed for several other selected groups of related reactions, no additional significant instances of obedience of data to Eq. (2) were detected. [Pg.300]

Satisfactory agreement was shown between this expression and the experimental results of Walker et al. [190] on alcohol pressure dependence. No adequate test of oxygen pressure dependence was possible on the basis of that study. [Pg.376]

Certain features of alcohol photo-oxidation are connected with the presence of sensitizers. As found by Backstrom [60], the rate of photooxidation of 2-propanol (with benzophenone as sensitizer) is inversely proportional the oxygen pressure. Dependence of the 2-propanol oxidation rate on alcohol concentration and on light intensity, /, (with anthraquinone as sensitizer) is expressed as... [Pg.136]

Because Dqq oc [V(5o]then if one measured the radio tracer diffusion of cobalt in CoO, the isothermal oxygen pressure dependence should exhibit a one-quarter dependence. This is exactly what Carter and Richardson ( ) did. Their results are shown in Figure 5. The electronic conductivity, o,... [Pg.82]

Often authors plot the logarithm of the parabolic rate constant (usually kp or krj>) versus log pQ and infer from the oxygen pressure dependence ( 1/n) a mechanism. If one mechanism dominates across the oxide layer, that is. one mechanism is predominate between Pq and the upper limit for Pq, then... [Pg.85]

Calculations based on the above four defect equations prove the oxygen pressure dependence of the electrical conductivity to be Pq, Pq and respectively. [Pg.120]

More recently Chereau and Wadrin (212) have measured the oxygen pressure dependence of the electrical conductivity of PUO2, at 1080°C, and found a dependence of — 1/5, which agrees with the results obtained by Atlas and Schlehman (87). To interpret this, they proposed a divacancy model which yields the dependence of — 1/5. [Pg.125]
