Oxidizers, propellant hydrazinium perchlorate

A number of other materials have received (HAP), hydrazinium nitrate (HN), and hydra-attention as potential oxidizers for propellant zinium perchlorate (HP). [Pg.1214]

Hydrazine perchlorates are of interest due to their possible use as solid propellant oxidizers. Hydrazine forms two different perchlorates, depending on the degree of protonization. Hydrazinium (l-E) perchlorate (N2H5CIO4) forms N2H5CIO4 monohydrate and hemihydrate. The divalent (2-I-) perchlorate forms hydrazonium perchlorate, N2H6(C104)2. Because both salts are high explosives, their preparation has to proceed with extreme precaution. Hydrazinium perchlorates can be sublimed under vacuum without decomposition. [Pg.70]

The use of hydrazinium perchlorates as solid propellant oxidizers is greatly handicapped by their shock sensitivity, hygroscopic nature, and... [Pg.74]

A number of other materials have received attention as potential oxidizers for propellant use, but to date have found little actual use. They include hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN), hydroxylammonium perchlorate (HAP), hydrazinium nitrate (HN), hydra-zinium perchlorate (HP), and hexanitroiso-wurtzitane (CL-20). [Pg.1774]
