Other contaminants of concern are my cotoxins, dioxins, and 3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD) [86]. [Pg.769]

After the Chemobyl-accident many food products had been contaminated by radioactivity. A first regulation 1707/86 had established limits for Cs 134 and 137 in Bq/ kg. This regulation has been replaced by Council Regulation (Euratom) No 3954/87 [87[. This regulation is of special importance for raw materials originating from Eastern Europe countries. [Pg.769]

Genetic engineering has also to be mentioned. At first all novel food products have been regulated by Directive 90/220/EEC. Later the Regulation (EC) No. 1829/2001 on genetically modified food and feed was issued covering both food additives and flavourings [88[. [Pg.769]

Flavouring ingredients may be flammable, toxic, corrosive, irritant, harmful, and/or dangerous for the environment. [Pg.769]
