To summarize, it must be said that mutational analysis and modem genetic methods have proved to be a great success in studies of PolyP metabolism in yeast and will provide new knowledge in this field in future. Data on the role of Pi transport systems in PolyP metabolism of yeast have been summarized in a recent review (Persson et al., 2003).
