Osmium ligand-containing complex

There are a number of osmium(VI) oxo complexes containing cyanide ligand, but none have been reported for ruthenium. The ion [0s(0)2(CN)4] can be prepared by reaction of [OSO4] with aqueous KCN. The X-ray crystal structure of Cs2[Os(0)2(CN)4] (85) shows that it has trans-6ioxo groups with 0s=0 distances of 1.750 [0s(0)2(CN)4] is luminescent both in the solid state... [Pg.769]

Extensive work on cis- and trans-d o o complexes of ruthenium(VI) and osmium(VI) containing nonlabile, oxidation-resistant nitrogen donor ligands has been reported. [Pg.770]

A recent development31 is the preparation of metal polymer complexes directly on the electrode via the electrochemically induced polymerization of the metal complex. Ruthenium(II) and osmium(II) complexes with ligands containing aromatic amines, e.g. 3- or 4-aminopyridine or 5-amino-1,10-phenanthroline, are electrochemically polymerized to yield a film of the metal polymer on the electrode surface. The polymerization involves free radicals, which are formed via the initial oxidation of the metal complex to a radical cation and subsequent reaction of the radical cation with a base to yield the free radical. [Pg.488]

A number of osmium(IV) phosphineiminato complexes are known which also contain phosphine or arsine coligands they are prepared by nucleophilic attack of phosphines on the nitrido ligand in osmium(VI) species. There is also one example of a phosphiteiminato complex, one of a phosphineaminato species, both formally involving osmium(IV), and two examples of osmium(I) aroylphos-phineiminato complexes. [Pg.568]
