Oriented PP reinforcements filled with nano-SiO

According to the material design described in the Introduction, the reinforcement component of the planned PP homopolymer reinforced PP copolymer composite, that is, oriented PP homopolymer filled with nano-Si02, was manufactured in advance. Isotactic PP homopolymer (trade name H1500, melt flow index = 11.5 g/10 min, provided by Hyundai Petrochemical Co. Ltd., South Korea) was chosen as the matrix polymer of the reinforcement component. [Pg.702]

Both experimental and theoretical studies indicate the influence of nanoparticles boundary interactions on the dynamics of polymers within an interfacial layer because the size of nanometer particles is comparable to the relative size of a single polymer chain [44,45]. The degree of interaction between the nanoparticles and matrix polymer can be estimated from dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) of PP and its nanocomposites using [Pg.705]

All the above studies demonstrate that low particle-particle attraction and strong filler/ma-trix interaction would provide nano-silica with sufficient mobility during drawing treatment. [Pg.707]

In addition, although the TEM observations indicate that the nano-silica agglomerates can deform and be pulled apart in PP matrix, it is still unknown whether voiding and [Pg.707]
